The application for Seattle PDT is now closed. Stay tuned for info on Spring PDT!
The Winter term Professional Development Tour is an overnight trip to Seattle from March 1-2, 2018. Last year, we toured WE Communications, Microsoft and Edelman — apply early and stay tuned to find out where we will be touring this year! The PDT application will become available on this page Monday, Jan. 8 and will be open until Jan.31. Participants will be selected on a first come, first served basis with PRSSA members having priority.
UO PRSSA will arrange carpools, hotel lodgings and organization visits. Participants will be responsible for their own class absences as carpools will leave Eugene Thursday, March 1 in the afternoon and return Friday, March 2 in the late evening.
If selected, participants are required to pay a nonrefundable $35 fee, which includes the hotel and logistical costs. There will also be a mandatory meeting Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. Please note that participants will be responsible for their own meals and cost of carpooling, gas and parking during the tour. Questions can be directed to Maggie Beyer, UO PRSSA Vice President, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
PRSSA Professional Development Tours offer students the opportunity to travel and visit various PR agencies and in-house work settings. In the past, we have visited agencies in Portland, Seattle and San Francisco. These tours allow students to hear from various PR industry professionals, expand their professional networks and get their questions answered.
In recent years we have visited Providence Health and Services, Allison+Partners, Edelman, Maxwell PR + Engagement, CMD, Matter Communications, WE Communications and Microsoft.
All students are encouraged to apply for Professional Development Tours, however, PRSSA members have priority. Application periods and tour dates are announced each term – you can find information and applications for upcoming tours at the top of this page. Please keep in mind that costs for transportation, hotel, food and other expenses are dependent on the location of the tour.
